The problem is that when I switch on my system and am presented with my boot loader (Lilo), trying to boot into xp fails. It simply reboots the system after a few seconds trying to load xp. Is mandrake trying to boot up the copy of xp that was on the second partition which no longer exists?

Greetings: I want to remove XP and install W2K. However whenever I place the W2K cd-rom into the drive. XP responds that W2K is an "older" OS and only allows me to browse the CD-rom. If I browse the CD-ROM and double-click "setup.exe", same error message "OS is older than current OS" and exits.

If the computer can boot to USB devices you might be able to use a USB floppy drive, if not you will have to fit a floppy diskette drive to the computer even if only temporarily. That failing you will have to slipstream/sysprep an image with the controller drivers included in the deployment. John.
